Alliances in Care: Visualizing Your Caregiver Support Network

November is National Family Caregivers Month, a time to recognize the compassion, resilience, and hard work of those who provide care to their loved ones. Whether you care for a parent, spouse, friend, or neighbor, caregiving can be both deeply meaningful and incredibly demanding.

At The Senior Alliance, we know that no caregiver should have to go through the journey alone. That’s why we developed Alliances in Care, a guided activity to help you see the full picture of your caregiving support system and build confidence in the connections that surround you.

Read our latest blog to download Alliances in Care and start mapping your caregiving support network.

This season, we are thankful for the caregivers, older adults, and volunteers who make our community stronger. MI Options is here to support you with free counseling for Medicare and long-term care planning.

Give Hunger a Holiday

Too many older adults in Michigan struggle with food insecurity. On holidays when traditional food delivery services are not available, aging adults in our community count on The Senior Alliance to provide a hot meal.

Last year, over 2,900 holiday meals were delivered to older adults who would have otherwise gone hungry.

The holiday meals program is made possible because of donations from generous community members like you. Please consider donating to The Senior Alliance this season. Join us to help Give Hunger a Holiday.

At The Senior Alliance, we’re especially grateful this season for the opportunity to serve older adults, caregivers, and people with disabilities in southern and western Wayne County.

Whether it’s delivering meals, providing in-home care, connecting people with Medicare counseling, or simply offering a listening ear, our work wouldn’t be possible without the commitment of our staff, the dedication of our volunteers, and the collaboration of our community partners.

From all of us at The Senior Alliance, thank you, and we wish you and your family a safe, warm, and joyful holiday.

Star of the Month: Jordan Esteban

Starr of the month: Jordan Esteban The Senior Alliance

We are thrilled to honor Jordan Esteban as our Star of the Month for November!

Jordan is nominated by both teammates and leadership for her unwavering support, flexibility, and team-first mindset. Here’s what they had to say:

“Jordan is always willing to help answer questions when it comes to the backend and reporting side of things. She never complains, is always smiling, and kind. Her answer is always, ‘I can do that’ or ‘Let me find out.’ She’s been a great asset during the transition to new software and an incredible support to the MI Options Team as we’ve worked through a new program, a new system, and all the changes that come with it. She’s created new forms, better tracking tools for volunteers, and has gone above and beyond.” – Michelle Morales, Co-worker

“Jordan is a huge asset to MI Options and The Senior Alliance. She has an outstandingly positive team spirit and jumps in to help anyone at a moment’s notice. She is approachable, knowledgeable, kind–and I feel like she can do anything we need. From individual training to complex reporting and state uploads, Jordan is a superstar.” – Kari West, Manager

From all of us at The Senior Alliance, thank you, Jordan, for your dedication, kindness, and can-do attitude. Congratulations!
