The Senior Alliance - Live Your Way

The Senior Alliance’s 2025 Year in Review

Another incredible year is in the books at The Senior Alliance!

We are pleased to report a year of significant progress and public service.

In our latest blog, we share our 2025 Year in Review, a snapshot of the impact The Senior Alliance has had in our southeastern and Downriver communities.

We thrived in our mission of helping older adults and adults with disabilities live independently through comprehensive support, services, and resources. We couldn’t do it without our collaborative partners, tireless volunteers, and helpful community. Your generosity transforms our work.

Manager of the Quarter: Beth Wright

A graphic branded with The Senior Alliance colors (orange a blues) with the logo announcing Beth Wright as Manager of the Quarter.

Beth is nominated by several team members who admire her steady leadership, deep knowledge, and quiet but powerful impact across The Senior Alliance.

Here’s what they have to say about Beth:

“Beth is a behind-the-scenes superstar. I don’t think most people know how much she has on her plate at one time. Beth is constantly juggling several different audits, assessments, contracts, follow-ups, trainings, meetings, and so much more. Beth has a great rapport with all of the vendors and really cares about any feedback or concerns they have, while also remaining steadfast about what is required of them. While she is usually in charge of the programmatic part of a vendor assessment, Beth has jumped in several times to help with the fiscal side of an audit as well. She is incredibly knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, and overall a great asset to us.”  – Chelsea Bensie

“I have worked for Beth for a little over a year, and I can honestly say she is just completely a pleasure to work for. I have not had a day when I have felt pressure or felt overwhelmed by what is expected of me. Beth checks in often and does not micro-manage, which is a huge thing. She is quick to extend an offer of help or jump right in to get something done. I have met so many great people here at The Senior Alliance, and I am very appreciative to work for one of them. – Sherry Smith

“Beth demonstrates leadership, reliability, and quick responsiveness in working through the annual assessment process. She has assisted colleagues in learning the requirements, has an overall positive attitude in sometimes difficult situations, and builds relationships with our vendors. After a couple of years of juggling multi-year assessments, she is closing in on meeting the goal set out to complete all 35 POS vendor assessments along with 16 subcontractor assessments by September 30th. Great job! – Susan Ross

Thank you, Beth, for leading with integrity, compassion, and excellence. As your colleagues attest, you’re an incredible asset to our agency!

Star of the Month: Melissa Behrendt

January's Star of the Month is Melissa Behrendt. There is no photo; just a graphic in The Senior Alliance's blues and orange.

Melissa is recognized by both colleagues and leadership for her quiet strength, clinical skill, and unwavering commitment to those she serves.

Here’s what her team has to say about Melissa:

“Every time I do a vendor survey with one of Melissa’s participants, they are always so complimentary of her and tell me she is one of the best parts of being in the program. Melissa was also very prompt with taking care of items needed for the recent audit, which is not always easy. Thank you for being a great Supports Coordinator!”  – Katherine Zurenko, Quality & Training Manager

“Melissa is a thoughtful, highly skilled clinician whose strength is not loud, but is instead shown through flexibility, calm determination, and intentional action. Melissa’s participants make it clear that she is highly trusted, respected, and well-loved. I echo those sentiments and continue to feel very fortunate that Melissa found her way to us  – Gail Wejrowski, Waiver Clinical Manager

From all of us at The Senior Alliance, thank you, Melissa, for the compassion, professionalism, and trust you bring to every relationship. We’re lucky to have you on our team!
