Dear New Caregiver: What I Wish Someone Had Told Me

Dear New Caregiver,

First, let me say this: you are doing something extraordinary. You may not feel like it right now, standing in the kitchen with dishes piled up, a list of phone calls to make, and someone you love calling your name from the other room. Now Available: Direct Care Workers Fund

The Direct Care Worker Needs Fund is available to help direct care workers overcome unexpected hardships that may affect their ability to provide care.

This fund can assist with things like reliable transportation, gas cards, housing support, and other urgent needs. For a limited time, the program is open to direct care workers beyond those serving The Senior Alliance’s participants.

Direct care workers are the backbone of services that allow older adults and people with disabilities to live independently. When unexpected challenges arise, this fund provides a safety net so caregivers can continue doing the essential work our community relies on.

If you have questions, please contact Sarah Draper at 734-516-2390.
