Congratulations to our two Managers of the Quarter, Marissa Colling and Katherine Zurenko!
Their manager, Lydia, wanted to nominate them jointly, saying, “They use games to make the in-person trainings fun, the trainings and QA work they did helped improve our CQAR score, they handled the CQAR and the corrective action plan, and they got the waiver Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) plan done at the same time as CQAR and other reports.”
Kelly Faber, The Senior Alliance’s CFO, added, “Marissa and Katherine make a special effort to make learning fun and recognize their team. In October they entertained staff with TSA’s First Ever Waiver SC Awards complete with a red carpet, fun/formal dress, and an emcee handing out FUN individual awards. The team appreciated the effort and the opportunity to relax and laugh together.
Their co-workers only had the kindest things to say as well:
“Katherine Zurenko is a well-spoken, reassuringly calm, funny, wise, young gal who has attention to detail like nobody’s business (just ask any Support Coordinator). In conjunction with her Quality Training Partner, Marissa, Katherine is creatively fun (Oscar Awards for SC’s, Jeopardy Learning Game, Dating Game, and Price is Right Game-just to name a few). However, she’s able to provide straight forward educational teaching effectively. She listens when you have a grievance. She troubleshoots with you and never makes you feel inadequate. She even provides a chuckle when needed. AND, though she usually knows the answer, on the rare occasion she might not, she goes out into the Universe and finds it for you. As a Housing Manager, she taught all of us so much and would re-teach / re-explain over and over while NEVER making you feel bad for asking again. Katherine is an asset, a golden gem, to all Support Coordinators. She is a valuable employee for The Senior Alliance, as well, and should be recognized as such.” – Deb Burke
“This week alone, Marissa Colling has, on short notice, helped interview three social workers and one RN. She helped me with the tech hiccup during the staff meeting, which was so appreciative because I really get nervous presenting in large groups. She also offered to tag along at the WSU job fair. Normally, I go alone and it’s not a big deal, but the EMU fair was packed so I’m expecting WSU might be the same. She also makes sure our team gets top-notch training and our interns have the best experience around.” – Lauren Wonsowski
