Navigating Medicare can be confusing, but you don’t have to do it alone. The Senior Alliance provides free Medicare counseling through Michigan’s State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). Our trained counselors offer one-on-one guidance to help you understand your benefits and make informed decisions.

Who Can Use MI Options?

  • Adults aged 18 or older
  • Adults living with disabilities
  • Medicare beneficiaries
  • Soon-to-be Medicare beneficiaries
  • People who need long-term care supports and services 
  • Caregivers and family members

The SHIP program is supported by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $79,224 with 100 percent funding by ACL/HHS through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Real Results

In FY 2024, State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) Medicare counselors at The Senior Alliance helped beneficiaries with $1,225,578 in prescription drug savings through nearly 4,500 (4,434) client contacts. Medicare Counseling is a free service that helps you navigate Medicare and get the savings you deserve.
