Moving Toward Independence

Ms. S was in a nursing home in Howell, Michigan, and wished to transition out of the nursing home and into her own apartment in The Senior Alliance service area. Mrs. S contacted us for information on how to initiate the move, where to find housing, and what assistance may be available to her for this process. She was connected with our Housing Coordinator who helped her locate housing in the geographic area she desired that was within her budget. We were able to move her to American House Riverview, which is closer to family who could visit more often than they were able when she was in Howell. Mrs. S likes having her own apartment as there was not a lot of privacy in the nursing home. She is happy with services she is receiving.
