Delivering meals to seniors on holidays is truly rewarding. I know that I’m the only person some of the people are seeing that day, and I’m glad to know I can brighten their day.
While delivering meals at Christmas, a client asked us to walk down the hall of his apartment building with him to knock on the door of another resident who is homebound. The man shared his meal with the other man. He wanted to be sure the other man had something good to eat on the holiday.
We shared the number for The Senior Alliance, so the other man can inquire about getting meals through the regular Meals on Wheels program and on holidays.
