“It’s a Good Day at TSA”

Our year was filled with success stories, and we’re excited to share some of them with you.

Care Management/Case Coordination and Supports

From one of our care managers:

“I completed a follow-up call with one of my participant’s daughters to inform her that their request for her father’s increased hours had been approved and could be started the next day. The daughter expressed her gratitude for all that The Senior Alliance has done for her parents over the years. She lives out of town, and while her family does all that they can, she doesn’t know how they would manage without our help and support. She extends her many thanks, and she considers herself and her family to be truly blessed in finding The Senior Alliance.”

From another care manager:

“One of our participants shared a challenge she faced in finding incontinence supplies that didn’t cause allergic reactions. Despite her efforts, she had yet to be successful on her own. Initially skeptical about trying the supplies provided by The Senior Alliance, she decided to give them a chance. To her relief and satisfaction, she experienced no allergic reactions to these supplies. She was overjoyed to finally have products that met her needs, keeping her dry and comfortable. Grateful for this positive outcome, she encouraged us to share her experience with other participants who might also have sensitivities to certain materials, hoping to help others in similar situations.”

Michigan Medicare Assistance Program

From one of our counselors:

“Our team at The Senior Alliance recently assisted a client in making informed choices about their healthcare coverage. We provided the client with the phone number for Michigan ENROLLS and joined them in a call with their representative. This collaborative approach led to a crucial discovery that the client was already benefiting from the MI Choice Waiver Program. After careful consideration and reevaluation of their options, the client decided to maintain their current straight Medicaid Plan and also chose to add a Medicare Advantage Plan. It was a rewarding experience to guide and support our client through this important decision-making process.”

MI Choice Waiver

“Our team at The Senior Alliance recently had a notable success story with one of our clients. After an unsuccessful attempt at receiving assistance through the State Emergency Relief (SER) program, we directed the client to try The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW). She made the call and was efficiently guided to their website to fill out an application. The outcome was fantastic – THAW approved her application and generously covered her past-due bill of $1,100! It was a great moment for our team to see such a positive result and a huge relief for our client.”

2023 marked a fantastic year for The Senior Alliance, filled with achievements we are truly proud of. We’re eagerly looking forward to the opportunities and successes that 2024 will bring!
