Senior Alliance Recognized as Empowering Workplace for All Ages

WAYNE, MI (DATE OF RELEASE): Many are drawn to the concept of working at a nonprofit. Those who aspire to make a difference often seek honest businesses that better the lives of their clients and community. What makes The Senior Alliance stand out is its commitment to its employees as well as its mission. The Southeast Michigan nonprofit ranks 39 out of the top 100 Crain’s 2020 Cool Places to Work. For the second time, the organization prides itself on the recognition for its modern and empowering work environment.

CEO of The Senior Alliance, Tamera Kiger, stresses why good working conditions are so essential. “It is not enough to help our clients if we are not also helping our own team members,” she explains. “Our employees advocate for seniors and we advocate for them. To me, being recognized a second time shows our commitment to a strong company culture.”

Among The Senior Alliance’s top perks, Crain’s noted the organization’s low turnover rate, 39 days of paid time off, flex-time options, and monthly chair massages. To qualify the nonprofit’s employees also had to rate their work environment favorably based on company practices, employee satisfaction, and benefits.

The award is no easy feat. Crain’s Cool Places to Work is managed by the independent research firm Best Companies Group (BCG). The organization also hosts worldwide programs in the US, UK, and Canada. Each year, it hosts events like Best Places to Work to promote example companies in each state based on employee feedback.
